There's a good chance you have a rug in your home. A rug has become almost indispensable in an interior. Logically, because it makes your home so much more homely! But do you also have a runner in your home? This seems far less likely. To many people, it sounds very old-fashioned. A runner is a long, narrow rug that works perfectly in long, narrow spaces. Runner for the kitchen

Sounds great, such a runner. But where can you actually best place such a rug? A frequently used location for such a long, narrow rug is the kitchen. This is so popular that special kitchen runners are even offered. Moreover, you can practically put any rug in the kitchen. Of course, it's important to think about: what's practical? For a kitchen runner, a flat-weave variant is generally recommended because it's very low-maintenance. It's also wise to pay attention to the material of your runner. A cotton version is much more sensitive than a variant made of, for example, polypropylene. This is a synthetic material that is best compared to plastic and is therefore very easy to clean, even with water. So you can really make a mess without ruining your beautiful floor. Real kitchen runners are generally standard flat-weave and made of plastic. But of course you could also put a square rug in the kitchen.

Rug for the hallway

Would you prefer a rug runner in a different location than the kitchen? Then a hallway or entrance is logically also an ideal spot. A hallway is often long and narrow, just like a runner! In your hallway, however, you'd better choose a different variant than in the kitchen. In the hallway, generally not much foot traffic passes. A rug is therefore often used from a styling perspective in that location. To add some extra warmth where you welcome people into your home, it's a good idea to choose a high-pile variant. This is wonderfully soft underfoot and through its structure therefore radiates plenty of warmth. A high-pile rug runner is available in many different colours and patterns. Do you go for a daring blue with a graphic pattern, or do you go for a natural, plain colour? The choice is yours! Does the hallway have a lot of foot traffic?
